Questions and Answers about our Premium Subscriptions

Why are we charging for content? And we ask, why do traditional magazines charge for content? To help pay for that content itself (unlike most websites, our content is exclusive to VeloceToday.com, LLC and written by experts), and the increasing myriad of costs associated with running a weekly website; hardware and software, programs and backups, website upgrades and design are but a few of the costs involved.

What else do we do with the money? After costs, there is not much left. Therefore the editor/publisher/owner does not take any salary or monies accrued. In fact, any extra money is put back into the business and help supports our ongoing book publishing projects such as Bowtie Ferrari, Chevy-engined Ferraris from the 1950s and 60s.

Why should you support VeloceToday? Each week we receive comments from readers that are not published as they come directly to the editor. Here is a recent comment from a noted Ferrari expert and Concours judge:

“Thank you for your continuing efforts and contribution to the car world. I receive many e-mags and yours is one of the best in terms of both photo and narrative coverage.”

Over and over readers tell us how much the articles we publish are appreciated. And for four years, readers have been paying for content via our Premium Subscription service and our renewal rate is better than 90%. So we know we are doing well; and we know that most of our readers are very happy to continue to support our efforts.

Why does it cost so much? There are three levels of subscription:
One year at $4.95 per month ($59.40 per year and best buy)
$7.95 per month for six months ($47.70), and
$9.95 per month for one month; a price for every pocket. And, don’t forget, like the old Automobile Quarterly, Premium Subscriptions are our primary source of revenue.

Can I pay by check? Media Pass is our Premium Subscription service company. The digital subscription program is set up with security measures and privacy safeguards. Therefore it is not possible for us to take a check to pay for Premium Subscriptions; you must provide and input a Credit Card number or Paypal information, create a secure password and provide your email address into the Media Pass database.

What do I get? Instead of a magazine heavily laden with ads that will eventually end up in the circular file, a Premium Subscriber has access to thousands of articles at his fingertips. By using our “Find Function”, any person or car or subject in our archives can be found instantly, any time, any place. Plus, last year over $1000 worth of new books were given away to Premium Subscribers as drawing prizes and included free shipping. Finally, satisfaction. We know you enjoy reading Graham Gauld, Nigel Trow, Micheal T. Lynch, Denise McCluggage, Brandes Elitch. Jonathan Sharp, Hugues Vanhoolandt and many others who regularly fill our pages and should be happy to help keep them appearing in VeloceToday.

Use the below form to become a Premium Subscriber. If you need help, just email us at vack@cox.net.

Below, see what you have been missing: we roll out all the articles we’ve published in 2013, posted from December to January; just keep scrolling down to January. Our thanks to all of our contributors, authors, correspondents, proofreaders and all of you who have become Premium Subscribers, without whom VeloceToday would not exist. Point and click and thank you!
