For being a pretty boring race, all in all, the British Grand Prix was a real nail-biter. Jimmy Clark would have felt right at home as thousands of Ferrari faithfuls chewed the keratin to the quick waiting to see if Webber would catch Alonso or if Alonso would hold off Weber. Ferrari Finds Speed, Finally
Grand Prix of Britain

Fernando Alonso did his best to convince everyone that he was worth every Euro the scuderia is throwing at him and brought Ferrari their first victory of the 2011 season in a typically damp British Grand Prix. Sebastian Vettel led during the first half of the race, getting the jump on his pole sitting team mate, causing groans of “not again” from the dignified fans and more guttural shouts of “che cazzo” from tifosi. But the result was enough to put Red Bull on notice that the last ten races will not be a cake walk. Hopefully.

A Bad Day for Ferrari, a Good Day for Webber

As runner ups to the raging Red Bulls, Ferrari had half a chance this weekend. Alonso had qualified in third and put his car on the second row, Massa in row four. An early puncture put Massa near the back of the pack from where he would not recover, seemingly off form. After flat spotting his tires on lap 40, Massa made a trick or treat call on the pits and they simply weren’t ready. [Read more…] about British Grand Prix

Red Bull’s second

Sebastian Vettel made the most of his pole position and dominated this week’s British Grand Prix. The young German blew away the competition and brought his Red Bull Racing car home to finish 1-2, setting Brawn GP on notice that the performance gap has been closed.
