Peter Collins…the other one …the photographer and writer…went with me to take some photos for the book. First there was a test to see if I really had done my homework on the history of the Alfetta. I must have passed because after he quizzed me about when the project had started, he pulled original blue prints off his shelf…dated 1935 and signed by Colombo. Then came the long tale of how he had acquired the only Alfetta to escape into private hands. As I had already driven the car, we were soon working on the same plane….it’s a great memory.

It is a pity you two did not meet . I would have enjoyed being the third man to make the introductions and you should have told me the last time we met up last year and we could have paid Mike a visit. Graham.

It shows once again that drivers you have never heard of can tell some great stories. A home run for Graham Gauld. Looking forward to more.
