Classic Bill France story. Never knew he was at Monza. Undoubtedly studying banked turn construction techniques.

You satisfied my curiosity to know more about Brian Naylor, which was aroused by the lovely lady who still lives in the next room to my mother in a care home in UK. Her name is Dorothy (nee Champs) who did some racing in the late 1950s with an Austin Healey and Triumph TR2. She also worked at Brian Naylor’s garage in Stockport and told me all about his Lotus 11 with Maserati engine installed, a story I had never previously heard. I shall be printing your article and sharing it with her, I think she will be thrilled. Thank you, Graham!
